My journey in the esthetics world began in 2013. I spent nearly six years at a renowned spa in Palo Alto, where I refined my skills and discovered a true passion for brow artistry. Later, I ventured into the medical spa field to deepen my knowledge of skin health and advanced treatments.

While working in the medical spa in 2018, I felt called to return to brows—what had always felt most natural to me. I began offering services part-time and launched my first business: Brows & Beauty by Grisel, which has since evolved into MONAKHOL.

By 2021, I fully transitioned to working exclusively on my business, further specializing in the art of brows. With MONAKHOL, I set out to combine everything I had learned over the years—drawing from my experience in some of the Peninsula's top spas—to create services that not only deliver beautiful results but also offer a sense of calm and care. One of the reasons I chose to expand was to introduce facial treatments alongside our brow services. I've always been deeply passionate about the beauty industry as a whole, and offering skin-focused treatments felt like a natural extension of that love.

As the demand for expert brow services continued to grow, so did my desire to serve more clients—without ever compromising on quality or personalized attention. I held very high standards when it came to hiring; I was looking not only for talent but also for kindness, integrity, and a genuine passion for the craft.

I'm proud to say that Melissa and Jennifer are both incredibly skilled artists who fully understand and share my vision. They bring heart, intention, and expertise to every appointment, and I'm so grateful to have them as part of the MONAKHOL team.

My brow journey began in 2014. After earning my esthetics license at Cinta Aveda in San Francisco, I went on to study makeup at MUD in Burbank to deepen my knowledge of beauty and artistry.

When I moved back home, I was offered a job at Benefit Cosmetics in Palo Alto—what I thought would be the perfect combination of makeup and waxing. From there, I spent several years managing and specializing in brows, lash lifts, and Brazilians at Parasol Beauty in Palo Alto.

That's where I truly honed my craft and discovered my passion for full, natural brows. Now, I'm so excited to be part of the MONAKHOL team—a beautiful and inspiring studio that aligns with my tyle of work and shares my values around customer experience. I'm beyond grateful for my longtime clients and thrilled to welcome new faces into my chair.

With over 20 years of experience in the beauty industry, my journey began at the Benefit Brow Bar boutique in Los Gatos, where I discovered my love for brows. This passion for creativity and precision inspired me to go further and specialize in eyebrow design, lash lifts, and skincare—eventually transitioning to a well-known spa in Los Gatos that allowed me to deepen my expertise.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with renowned luxury beauty brands like Chanel and Marc Jacobs Beauty, where I refined my craft and stayed at the forefront of evolving trend and techniques.

In addition to my core specialties, I’ve also worked as a bridal makeup artist, curating timeless looks that help brides feel their most beautiful on such a special day. To me, beauty isn’t just about appearance—it’s about helping people feel seen, empowered, and confident in their own skin. I’m here to offer a personalized, luxury experience that leaves you looking and feeling your absolute best.
